The sinus areas of the body are complex and very often we take
them for granted until sinus problems such as a sinus infection occurs.
Types of Sinus Areas in the Body
There are four sinus areas in our bodies to explore. They are all connected in some way to the
skull through the nasal passages. The frontal sinuses are located in the forehead region.
Behind the cheekbones reside the maxillary sinuses. What are known as the ethmoid sinuses are
found between the eyes. The last area is the sphenoid sinuses which are behind the eyes.

Daily exercise is important as well so get at least 30 minutes in.

and reduced stress will help to make your immune system stronger.
Plan for Allergy Season
Chances are you already have a good idea of what you are allergic to or at least the time of
year when it will occur. Have a plan of action in place to help reduce sinus problems. Try to avoid those things
that you have identified as triggers.
Taking over the counter products at the first sign of symptoms can help to reduce them as
well.
You may need to limit the amount of time you spend outdoors during such allergy seasons. Find
yourself fun activities you can take part in while in the house to keep you from getting restless.
Humidifiers can help to keep the air moist during the dry months. Make sure you have clean
filters on your heating and cooling system as well to trap allergens.
It is also a good idea to talk to your doctor about allergy shots. What is available will depend
on the types of allergies you suffer from.
A combination of all of these efforts can help to significantly reduce your risk of sinus
problems developing. The prevention is well worth not ending up with sinus infections.
The sinus areas of the body are very interesting indeed. They serve a variety of needs that we
definitely do benefit from.
However, they also can cause great pain when they are inflamed and not functioning properly.
